Assessment & Evaluation System

(Aligned with NEP 2020 & CBSE Competency-Based Framework)

Our assessment philosophy is anchored in the progressive vision of the Ministry of Education under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the competency-driven guidelines of the Central Board of Secondary Education.

We believe assessment is not merely a measure of performance, but a structured pathway for growth, reflection, and mastery. Our evaluation system is developmental, multidimensional, and stage-appropriate.

Foundational Stage

(Pre-Primary – Grade II)

Assessment Approach: Observational & Developmental

At this stage, evaluation is non-pressurized and growth-focused.

  • Continuous observational assessments
  • Play-based performance tracking
  • Oral and written reflections
  • Foundational literacy and numeracy benchmarks
  • Social-emotional development indicators
  • Student portfolios and anecdotal records
  • Parent-teacher developmental conferences

Emphasis is placed on readiness, confidence, and curiosity.

Preparatory Stage

(Grades III – V)

Assessment Approach: Formative & Competency-Oriented

  • Periodic skill-based assessments
  • Activity-integrated evaluations
  • Oral and written reflection
  • Subject enrichment tasks
  • Project-based learning assessments
  • Introduction to structured written tests

Assessment gradually transitions from observation to structured academic evaluation while maintaining experiential depth.

Middle Stage

(Grades VI – VIII)

Assessment Approach: Analytical & Application-Based

  • Competency-based question formats
  • Case-study and problem-solving exercises
  • Interdisciplinary projects
  • Portfolio-based documentation
  • Multiple periodic tests
  • Skill subject assessments (coding, vocational exposure, etc.)

Students are evaluated on conceptual clarity, analytical reasoning, collaboration, and presentation skills.

Secondary Stage

(Grades IX – X)

Assessment Approach: Board-Aligned & Competency-Driven

In alignment with CBSE reforms:

  • Periodic Tests (PT)
  • Multiple Assessments (MA)
  • Subject Enrichment Activities (SEA)
  • Portfolio submissions
  • Half-Yearly & Pre-Board examinations
  • Board Examination preparedness modules

Question papers emphasize case-based, assertion-reasoning, and real-life application formats to reduce rote learning.

Senior Secondary Stage

(Grades XI – XII)

Assessment Approach: Specialised & Future-Ready

  • Advanced periodic evaluations
  • Research-based assignments
  • Practical and laboratory examinations
  • Stream-specific competency assessments
  • Mock board examinations
  • Career readiness evaluation

Performance analytics and mentoring sessions guide students toward higher education and competitive examination success.
